El Paso County looks at creating redistricting commission

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) — El Paso County lawmakers are starting to take on the complicated process of redistricting since the 2020 Census is complete.



In Texas, cities can delegate their redistricting responsibilities but counties cannot. In an effort to keep the process as non-partisan as possible, county leaders are looking to create a redistricting commission that would present recommendations for the county commissioners to vote on.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A group of city, county and state elected representatives say they want to see the deported Aug. 3 victim back in the United States.



The group says Rosa, whose name has been withheld due to concern for her safety, should be returned with humanitarian parole that would allow her to testify and contribute in the investigation and prosecution of the mass shooter from the Dallas suburbs.
